Prag Shah

Prag (Pragnesh) Shah is a global C-suite P&L, growth, and innovation leader with expertise intersecting digital, mobile, and software services with sales, marketing, and operations.  He has provided leadership through several dynamic economic and business cycles at large, mid-size, and entrepreneurial start-ups. He brings to companies his unique ability to craft strategies in the Boardroom while driving hands-on execution with sales, marketing, and operations teams -- globally.

 

Prag has been at the forefront of mobile and digital services for over 25 years with a breadth of experiences across different industries and several countries.  He brings versatility and ‘business battlefield’ operating experiences to help propel companies with P&L management, growth ventures, transformations, and turnarounds particularly via technology and new products/services.

Prag combined his business and technology skills with his passion for global cultures and travel at Princess Cruises, the $4 Billion revenue, premium global cruise line. As Global Head Innovation & Customer Experience, he drove significant innovation expansion and operations of Princess MedallionClassTM -- the preeminent connected experience in all of hospitality. There he led corporate and shipboard teams, and in his first year spent over 80 days at sea directly integrating business strategies, complex IoT technologies, and Guest/customer experience.

As a transformation and growth leader, he was recruited to the executive management team of publicly-traded Rosetta Stone. To support its mission to change the world through the power of language, Prag drove complex worldwide digital and business transformations.  As Global President, he led the consumer P&L and operations in multiple countries, expanded revenue and EBITDA, and launched subscription services.  He was previously recruited by a former colleague for the turnaround of private-equity owned Network Solutions – an online services company.  There, as GM E-Commerce, he was part of the core M&A team that successfully exited the company to public Web.com Group. He also led growth as President of a venture-backed data analytics & AI company and as COO/CEO of an IoT connected-car start-up company. Through his varied experiences senior executives commented that Prag has the unique combination of an analytical mindset, strong soft skills and innate ‘international IQ’.

His post-MBA career began at Fortune 100 Sprint Corporation in executive roles including VP Innovation and Chief of Staff to the Chairman & CEO.  His entrepreneurial drive matched Sprint’s mobile venture which achieved $10 Billion revenues faster than any other company in USA history.

Pursuing his awe of spaceflight, he started his early career as an aerospace engineer at NASA. He has served as an advisor to technology companies and currently serves on the Board of Pratham USA’s regional chapter helping drive youth literacy and job placement in India. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School, and Masters and Bachelors in engineering from George Washington University.

Prag has enjoyed living in several cities including Tokyo, Japan. He loves life’s adventures and, as an avid traveler and photographer, has done multi-week immersive trips on all seven continents. He currently lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and soon college-bound son.
